Laura Hartman is a life long athlete. She has been an avid triathlete since 2002, has proudly served on TEAM USA on the 2011 and 2013 teams, and is also a sponsored athlete on The Tri Shop Triathlon Team. Laura has been a swim coach since 2005 and triathlon coach since 2006 coaching youth, families, and adults. Laura’s athletic pursuits have landed her in the Junior Olympics for swimming as a young adolescent, a competetive “flyer” cheerleader in High School, and a professional Broadway Dancer in the US and abroad for ten years from 1980 – 1990. Laura has worked as a nurse trained in emergency and sports medicine, and a licensed massage therapist. She currently makes her home on the East End of New York’s Long Island, where she works as a USAT Certified Triathlon Coach,Level 3 USMS Certified Swim Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Yoga and Spin instructor.

Terry Stein, LMT, ART
Terry is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has been practicing Active Release Techniques® (ART®) since 2003. As an athlete, he was originally introduced to ART® with a shoulder injury. After treatment, he was so impressed with the results he chose to pursue ART® certification. In this pursuit, Terry had the opportunity to train with Dr. Michael P. Leahy, ART® founder and Chairman of the Board, as well as top level ART® instructors. Today his practice is primarily focused around ART®. He is Master’s Certified as a Full Body Practitioner.
Terry began building his practice by pioneering on-site pre- and post- event ART® treatments at many Long Island athletic events; including the majority of local triathlons and various running events. As he gained experience, Terry became a member of the ART® Ironman Provider Network, currently referred to as . These practitioners are race tested to provide on-site care to athletes competing in sanctioned events both nationally and internationally.
Terry is also a member of the ART® Elite Provider Network (EPN). Members of the EPN are recruited from the most qualified doctors and therapists who have demonstrated a commitment to resolving soft tissue conditions as quickly as possible and by making ART® a primary focus of their practice. Further, Terry is also a member of ART® Corporate Solutions which offers Active Release Techniques® to companies striving to reduce workman’s compensation costs and recordable injury rates in the area of repetitive strain and strain/sprain injuries or muscular skeletal disorders (MSD’s).
Today, Terry’s practice, Athletes Performance Care, is committed to providing the highest quality of care to athletes at all levels and disciplines, patients dealing with work related injuries and those affected
by the normal aches and pains of daily living.
